Stop 9 – Fire Chief Mike Bauer

Meet Mike Bauer. He's the tall gentleman in the bowler hat, second from the left in this photo mural.

Mike Bauer belonged to the Fire Department from eighteen sixty-five to nineteen thirty-two. That's sixty-seven years. And for thirty-one of those years, he served as Fire Chief.

In the small photo on the left, he stands with the Otoe Hook and Ladder Company in eighteen eighty-seven. On the right is Chief Bauer in nineteen twelve.
