Stop 34 – 1938 Seagrave Motorized Pumper
1938 Seagrave Motorized Pumper
00:00 / 00:22
This is Nebraska City's second motorized pumper, bought from the Seagrave Company of Columbus, Ohio, in nineteen thirty-eight for eight thousand dollars. It could pump five hundred gallons of water a minute.
Take a look at the cab. This engine had a "sedan cab," one of the first enclosed cabs on a fire truck. Before that, firefighters rode out in the open, rain or snow.
