Stop 30 – 1926 Seagrave Motorized Pumper

1926 Seagrave Motorized Pumper
00:00 / 00:22

Here it is: Nebraska City's first motorized pumper. The city bought this Seagrave from Columbus, Ohio, for twelve thousand five hundred dollars. It could pump seven hundred fifty gallons of water a minute.

It had a long career. Its final fire was the nineteen eighty-four Morton House Kitchen fire, at Tenth Street and Seventh Corso, nearly sixty years after it arrived.
